About Sensata...This piece "A Sensata Liturgy on the Mind" combines ancient vocal harmonies that I fell in love with as a child, with new ideas conceived in my adult years. Sensata is a Latin word meaning "wise or gifted with sense." It is a word I have repeated quietly to myself for years to describe the spiritual component of my philosophy. Now I am beginning to use it freely. The word describes the art and culture seeds that I would like to see grow into a body-centered spirituality. This sensata liturgy is an ecstatic and contemplative composition, my first choral expression of ideas that blew my mind, and truth be told, put me on a manic roller coaster.

According to Homer, after the fall of Troy it took the Greek hero Odysseus ten years to get back to his home on the island of Ithaca. Odysseus endured many extraordinary hardships along the way…but he also enjoyed a lot of wine! Inspired by Homer's timeless classic, and building upon the success of "A Tour of Wine in the Ancient World," this unique retelling of the Odyssey features ten exciting and surprising wines (one for each year of Odysseus' homeward journey) from around the Mediterranean world, along with regionally inspired food pairings.
Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your tickets for this special event before it's ancient history!
FAR AWAY A Staged Reading
MAR 30 & 31 7:30p
FAR AWAY is Caryl Churchill's absurdist masterpiece about a near-future world locked in a violent global conflict of such magnitude that even the animals, insects, and rivers have taken sides. ("The elephants went over to the Dutch," one character helpfully explains.) It's a mercilessly funny portrayal of a dystopia not too far removed from our own.
"Ravishing, deeply disturbing .... Has the picturesque form and gentle rhythms of a fairy tale. There is an uncommon density and sureness of purpose.... Each carefully chosen detail seems to vibrate with unsettled depths. And each summons anxieties both primal and mercilessly particular to the times in which we live." - THE NEW YORK TIMES
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Society for Humanitarian Archaeological Research and Exploration (S.H.A.R.E.), a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that uses archaeology as a tool to promote peace and dialogue in Israel/Palestine. S.H.A.R.E. is currently fundraising for a two-week conservation and dialogue project in July 2017 for Arab and Jewish youth in the seaside town of Jisr az-Zarqa. This project builds upon five years of successful S.H.A.R.E. programming and will provide an opportunity for these young people to engage with the past, the present, and one another on their own terms.
Please include class or workshop name, day, time and instructor. Also include your phone so we may contact you.

Love, Loss, and What I Wore A Staged Reading
Mother's Day Weekend
MAY 11&12 7:30p
MAY 13 5:00p
Love, Loss, and What I Wore is a play written by Nora and Delia Ephron based on the 1995 book of the same name by Ilene Beckerman. It is organized as a series of monologues and uses a rotating cast of five principal women. The subject matter of the monologues includes women's relationships and wardrobes and at times the interaction of the two, using the female wardrobe as a time capsule of a woman's life.
The show was initially presented as a part of the 2008 summer series at Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York, and then as a benefit series at the DR2 Theatre in New York in early 2009. Later the same year, the show was produced Off-Broadway as an ongoing commercial theatrical production at the Westside Theatre in New York, where it continues to run as the second-longest running show in the theatre's history. The production and its cast received positive critical attention. The production won the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience as well as the 2010 Broadway.com Audience Award for Favorite New Off-Broadway Play.
