Each of us has something unique to contribute to the world and our truest happiness lies in discovering what it is we are called to do and doing it wholeheartedly.

Shawn Brow, CRNA, MAE, E-RYT 200  Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Masters of Anesthesia Education. In 1988 she was board certified in nurse anesthesia and currently maintains a private anesthesia practice as a CRNA. Her yoga studies began in 2002 at Harmony Yoga under the artful guidance of Alison Rubin. She completed her 200hr Yoga Alliance registration in Dec 2005, and her E-RYT 200in 2009, and is currently working toward her 500hr through the White Lotus Foundation, with an emphasis on Yoga Therapeutics.  She especially enjoys integrating therapeutic aspects of yoga and Mindfulness Meditation teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn, which she studied locally with Carey Charyk, RN.  Balanced within the worlds of art and science, her teachings reflect the paradox between the body’s structural biomechanics, and the subtleties of intuitive grace and creativity. 

Sandy Nolting, BA, PT
  Sandy is a licensed Physical Therapist with 18 years of experience. She began studying the Iyengar tradition of yoga in January 2002 with Alison Rubin at Harmony Yoga. In 2005 she initiated her yoga teacher’s training in the Iyengar tradition, and began teaching in 2007. This February she will join the adjunctive faculty at Harmony Yoga's teacher training program.Sandy enjoys instructing Yoga Basics, a class for those new to the yoga experience.  Sandy offers private Yoga Therapeutic sessions, a wonderful way to gain insight into adapting yoga to meet your specific body challenges.

Patty Ferguson, MSW, RYT 200          
Patty completed her Masters in Social Work in 2010 and is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level. After years of dance classes, cross country meets and numerous sprained ankles, Patty discovered yoga and began practicing as a way to recover from past injuries and protect her body from new ones. She loves introducing those new to the practice of yoga and aspires to make yoga accessible to students of all backgrounds and body types.  (currently on sabbatical)

Kathryn Hapke-Miner, BS, RYT200  (Equivalent)  Kathryn has been teaching and practicing Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow yoga for over 19 years in California, Oregon and Washington.  She completed her training with Yoga Works and has studied throughout the US and in Mysore, India with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.  She invites you to learn the art of Vinyasa Flow on Sunday mornings at our reduced fee community class and Monday evenings at the Buddhio!

Beth McGibbon, BS, RYT200  Anusara Inspired Yoga Teacher and NBCT.   A dedicated teacher and student of Anusara Yoga, Beth has practiced yoga for 15 years and completed over 500 hours of Anusara Yoga studies with Karen Sprute-Francovich in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.  Beth joyfully shares her love for yoga, learning, and opening to grace with her students.  In addition to teaching yoga, Beth is a full-time high school teacher.  She lives in the South Perry neighborhood with her husband and four cats.

Aiko Terao AA, RYT200  Aiko has recently completed her 200 hour Yoga Alliance course work.  With an Associate degree in Fine Arts, she brings eclectic energy to her yoga teachings.  Her life has been greatly influenced by a committed yoga practice as a path to better health and understanding of the mind and body.  She began teaching Vinyasa Flow and Pre/Post Natal yoga in 2007 soon after her first child was born.   Aiko welcomes all levels of practitioners to 'wake-up' your Wednesday mornings with  Slow Vinyasa Flow, and to 'wind-down' your week on Friday evenings.

Sheila Fox, BA, LMP vocalist/musician   Sheila Fox is a unique and authentic practitioner of healing and music. She has brought comfort and joy to many people as an LMP, Licensed Massage Practitioner, and as a professional vocalist and musician.  She is trained and experienced in diverse modalities including: Traditional Swedish Massage, Geriatric Massage, Acutonics® Sound Healing System and more. She also enjoys using vocal release, energy therapies, guided imagery and visualization. A graduate of Brenneke Massage School in Seattle, Washington (1998), and a student of Kairos Institute of Harmonic Medicine, Sheila is certified nationally and by the state of Washington and is also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.  

Elwyn C. Lapoint, Sifu    Elwyn began his studies in Tai Chi in 1995, receiving his Sifu certification by master instructors Sifus James MacInnes and Pamela Phelan.  Recently he has offered Tai Chi instruction through the YMCA's of Spokane, and at Eastern Washington University, where he is also Professor Emeritus in Anthropology.  Over the course of his career, he received numerous grants, conducted ethnographic field studies in India and Ireland, and has written an abundance of articles receiving publication within many journals in the field of Anthropology.  He is as well proficient in several languages including his primary research language, Hindi.  

Laura Markman,  Nia ~ Certified Black Belt   Laura's love for Nia began in 1998 at the University of Idaho where she studied music and science.  She soon began sharing her passion through teaching Nia at the U of I, then journeyed to Portland where she studied with Nia founders Debbie and Carlos Rosas.  There she continued to explore other dance disciplines including 5 Rhythms with Gabrielle Roth, and Soul Motion with Vinn Marti. Her early accomplishments include offering the first Nia class at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California and several months teaching at Christina Spa Deus in northern Italy.  As one of Spokane's first Nia teachers, Laura offers two weekly classes at South Perry Yoga.  Recently earning her black belt certification, she is currently studying to attain a Bachelor of Science in Brennan Healing Science, and aspires to explore combining healing potentials of energy medicine with Nia and other dance movement art forms.

Mandi Walters, BS, RYT200  Mandi gratefully found yoga in 2005 and soon thereafter venture to India and Nepal to discover the heart of yoga.  After finding a wise teacher in a little village in the desert, she learned that yoga is simply practicing the art of living.   Mandi is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga, health, relaxation and happiness with those that wouldn't otherwise have access.  A majority of her teaching is with the Alliance for Greater Well-Being.  She is currently pursuing a nursing degree and can often be found gardining or playing in the woods.
